Another great DOGS day at Nudgee. Even though it was like playing in and around a development site and walking 20K between some holes it was a great course.
We did spend half our time keeping an eye on the group in front to make sure we were going in the right direction.
The wind made it challenging but it was good to have a different challenge.
The scores were good as you would have playing 2 ball scramble tournament.
the winners on the day were :

The scores will be posted below shortly.

Another great DOGS day at Brookwater with a great turn out. The course was challenging but beautiful presented.
We had 18 members attend and paired up for the Amborse competition, including the newest member Ryan.
Congratulations to the Rod and John who were both on their game and won with a 68.75. The rest of the scores are below.
I hope you found the communications on the next DOGS day better. If you have any suggestions that may help further please provide details to the committee and they will review and provide an update.
For the long weekend those intending to attend the DOGS Weekend over 19-21 Nov on the Sunny Coast need to have indicated their intent to the Sec, and deposited $150 into the DOGS account by 1 Sep.
Currently there are 17 members and 2 past members (reserve waitlist – Andy Brown and Karl Jones), that have indicated attendance. The latest updated events sheet showing the detail is available for download on the about us page.
Below are the positions and scores.
Other scores:
2nd Shaun and Russ - 69.75
3rd Scott C and Nick - 70.5
4th Wayne and Noel - 71

Another DOGS championship round a bit disappointed with the turnout attendance this year across all events is only at 64%, we can do better. Lets hope more guys can make Brookwater.
Thank you for all those that did turn up to make it one of the best DOGS days to date. A great laugh had by all, that turned up…..
The event on Sunday only had 14 in attendance, but congratulations must go the Sean (Brummie) who shot a nett 69, but more importantly a first gross under 100…well done mate.
Congrats also go to Rod who broke into the single figure handicap club.
The next event is 25th July, 7am tee off at Brookwater – Green fee, cart and comp is $109, Carts are mandatory. Nick is still trying to work a meal deal into the price.
The format will be partner Ambrose, if you haven’t sorted out a partner before the day then Nick will sort one on the day. We are trying to pair members with members who they have not played with in the past.
It was raised after the round, that there needs to be communication prior to events rather than remaining reliant on the website to sign up for events. So it was agreed Paul is going to investigate an app, Nick will send reminders at two and one week prior to the event and then daily on Fri, Sat before the Sunday, hopefully for those who find it hard to communicate this will improve the communication.
The link to the website is DOGS (godaddysites.com) , we will also investigate an outlook calendar invite and a fridge magnet at xmas with next years details on it. Tough audience!!
Start thinking about the weekend away 19-21 Nov, some are already contributing, others need to start. From the EOI’s that I received at the beginning of the year there were 17 yes responses, I am still waiting for responses from:
Greg Brown, Tori, Nigel, Noel, Ross, Russ, Rod, Boomer and Sean. Non financial members will go to the reserve list initially. Details are on the spreadsheet sent out by Nick, when you hover over the green Nov 19-21 cell.
Nick has sent out the DOGS spreadsheet with all the scores from each round. Below are the scores, “for those that attended”.

Another DOGS championship round with a good turnout. Thank you for every one that turned up.
We had DOGS member who did not even call off until we were on the 9th, he who shall not be named, I will say we were not able to have our handicaps for the round, apparently forgot to set his alarm. But our DOGS detectives have been out and about and have managed to get evidence as to why the MEMBER was not able to make Sunday. The video is a great watch and we would publish it on this site, but it is for the DOGS Golfing social not some 50 something wanabe 70's dad dancer. It does seem to be a familiar pattern with some members and their dancing..... (the picture is not of the person who did not call off, but his dancing is bad also).
The course is getting worse, Keperra have provided the Club membership with lots of excuses and promises. But we played on like proper troopers. In some cases the course did not matter much as their golf was pretty poor and that is being polite........
Thanks to Greg for sorting out the cards on the day, these would have been already prepared for the day but someone forgot to switch on their alarm........yes
Noel was our winner of the month again and is proving to be a genuine pace setter over the first three championship rounds. He scored a respectable nett 72, closely followed by john with a nett 73.
"I know the rules" Boomer was very closely monitored by the his playing partners. Where he was advised of the rules of golf a few times but there is hope for him I have been told.....
The society committee would like to apologies to all those that turned up and were not able to get their scores and the winners their prizes. If you have not received them yet they will be presented at the next DOGS day.
The committee would never throw someone under the bus as they don't believe in lowering their standards. Do we NICK "I slept in" Panter.

"Colin" Anyone seen my cart and clubs?
Unfortunately due to the weather conditions over the last few days meant that Carbrook was cancelled.
Nick did his best to organise a round for the DOGS at late notice but all possible courses had the same issue or were not able to fit us in.
Next DOGS event is the 3rd Championship round at Keperra on the 18th April. Tee off time is 6.00am. Hope to see as many there as possible.
